Affinity Groups

At Georgia Power, our employees are our greatest asset. The diverse experiences, skills and background they bring to work every day are what make us successful.

Georgia Power encourages employees to form resource groups they can turn to for support. Employee affinity groups, as we call them, are grassroots groups formed by employees around a common characteristic, such as: Asian-American; Hispanic/Latin American; African-American; working parents; military veterans and young professionals. Groups are not exclusive, however, as any employee may join any group.

Any Georgia Power employee can initiate the process to form an affinity group. Employees must develop a business case and submit it to the Affinity Group Review Board, which includes a cross section of people in the company with various beliefs, personalities, life experiences and work experiences.

A group becomes an officially recognized and company-supported affinity group upon approval by the Affinity Group Review Board.
